In 2018, the president signed a Farm Bill, making it legal to grow, sell, and consume hemp CBD products – as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC.
Many states have approved CBD for these purposes. Illinois has approved it for these uses.
Some states have not approved of CBD at all. In other states, approval is different from county to county. Check the status of your state/county.
Why isn’t CBD legal in all states?
- There is a stigma that CBD and THC are the same thing.
- People believe that you can get high off of CBD.
- People believe that CBD is dangerous for you. (The FDA is studying that right now.)
- People believe that CBD has no health benefits. (The FDA is studying this also.)
